Music in the Parks January to March Music in the Parks
Music in Parks returns in 2012 with 40 free concerts across the region from Rodney to Franklin. A highlight on Auckland's summer events calendar, it offers a diverse entertainment line-up with something for everyone.

Summer Sounds features some of New Zealand's best roots, soul, pop and blues artists. Jass at the Rotunda showcases talented jazz and blues musicians in band rotundas across the region. The Culture Garden presents a range of niche music genres to entertain and inspire. This year's line-up includes the ever popular New Zealand Opera at Dingle Dell.

Auckland International Buskers Festival 27-30 January Auckland International Buskers Festival
For the 12th year running, the Auckland International Buskers Festival will bring an awe-inspiring range of entertainment to the streets of central Auckland.

Top performers from all over the world will impress you with their skills, including acrobatics, dance, juggling, tightrope walking, mime, comedy and more. Sites include the Viaduct Harbour, Vulcan Lane, Downtown/Britomart, Princes Wharf and they will be at the Seafood Festival. A full programme is available on their website.

Aucklanders and visitors can now experience New Zealand's largest art collection in a world-class public art gallery. Auckland Art Gallery's recent multi-million dollar development has transformed the cultural heart of our city. The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki is New Zealand's oldest established and largest public art gallery. Opened in February 1888, the gallery has increasingly become a focal point of Auckland's rich and diverse cultural fabric.

Opening 3 March 2012, an exhibition from the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) represents seventy-nine works of art by influential and celebrated artists, such as Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Ernst, Magritte and Warhol. 'Degas to Dalí' will be the first major international exhibition since the Gallery re-opened its newly developed building in September 2011.
